FOR A SUCCESSFUL SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION..
Make sure you come in the hair style and clothes you like, because if you don’t, it will lead to not liking any of the pictures that we take.
GENERAL INFO
What should I wear?
Clothing is important! It can make or break an image. We won’t send you home if you show up in stripes, but we highly suggest
you follow the tips in this booklet to get the most from your portrait experience. Bring a good variety of your favorite clothes
so that we have alternatives. We do ask that you bring at least one dark, solid, long-sleeved shirt for us to photograph you in.
What should I bring?
A must = pressed powder, make-up, a flat iron (for hair), and flip flops to run around in. Optional things that you can bring include extra clothing, a coat or jacket, sports gear, class rings, a hat, sunglasses, or any prop you have in your collection that defines your personality. You can also along your car or your pet. We will try to include these as much as time allows.
Break Outs
We retouch and enhance each and every image you order. There may be additional fee if it is beyond basic retouching, but
they will be gone from final pictures.
Tanning
Avoid being overly tanned for your skin type, as it will add weight to your face. Also avoid sunburns, uneven spray tans and tan lines.
There are additional charges to remove sunburns and tan lines.
FOR GIRLS
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress like you are going on a special date. Bring a variety of colors, sweaters, tees and hoodies, dresses from prom and/or homecoming, heels, your favorite shoes, jewelry and necklaces, dark jeans, worn out jeans, accessories, earrings, headbands — bring anything you LOVE to wear.
Something classy
Imagine yourself when you look at your portraits 20 years from now and think of what you want to see! Bring at least one long sleeved sweater, preferably a color to enhance your skin.
Something casual
Bring something that you wear everyday, or something you are comfortable in! A long or short sleeved shirt will suffice.
Something different and fun
Bring something that is unique to you! It can be from dresses to tanks to T-shirts.
Identity clothes
Another variety of clothes is something that speaks to you personally, something that makes you who you are! Something associated with music, sports, or anything that makes you happy and you!

SOME "DON’T" EXAMPLES
- Try to avoid easily wrinkling clothes, because they are time consuming.
- Please avoid cap sleeves because they are not very flattering on the arms and do not photograph well.
- Don’t wear very bold patterns, such as contrasting stripes.
- Stay away from thin materials that are see-through, and/or bright undergarments that show through.
- Try not to wear tight clothes that you can’t move easily around in.
- Avoid trendy clothing; they will date your pictures fast.
** Make sure your undergarments are smooth and seamless.
Hair
We suggest no new styles. Use a de-frizz product to tame stray hairs and fly-aways. Hair should be done BEFORE coming to the studio. Quick easy hairstyle changes are okay, but it should be quick or you’ll lose camera time.
Make-up tips
Face: Use both SPF free moisturizer and foundation to prevent reflection and to enhance skin’s natural glow. Use a translucent
powder to set.
Eyes: Well-groomed eyebrows are a must. Enhance eyelashes with a black, waterproof mascara. Dark brown eyeliner is a natural alternative to heavy black eyeliner and compliments all light shimmery eyeshadows.
Cheeks: Don’t be afraid to have a little color on the apples of the cheekbones. It will really brighten up the appearance of the face.
Lips: Wear a glossy, shiny color. Lips are best in reds, berries, or browns. Avoid frosty pink. Buy glosses in any berry color.
Acne: Use a concealer. If you stand 2 feet away from a mirror and can’t see it, it won’t show in your images.
Nails: Many of our clients get their nails professionally done, and hands will be in some photos. Try to get your nails done.
We recommend having hair and make-up done professionally.
FOR GUYS
WHAT TO WEAR
Something classy
Imagine the time when you look at your portraits 20 years from now! Button-up shirts, shirts (solid color), polos, V-neck sweaters, and jackets are common choices.
Something casual
Bring something that you like to wear everyday, your own unique style - tees, jeans, torn jeans, shorts, leather jackets, a hoodie. Some other examples include baseball caps and hats.
Something different fun
Wear whatever makes you comfortable and something unique to personalize your picture.
Identity clothes
Try to bring something that is unique to you! Something that makes you stand out, like headphones or sports gear.
Props
Some examples include hats, sunglasses, a car, a microphone, a guitar, sports gear and so on.
Hair
Avoid cutting your hair right before the session. Give new styles at least two weeks or else your photographs will start to date fast.
Day of the session
Come clean shaven and ready to put on your suit and tie or what you will be wearing in your yearbook photo.
You can wear flip flops (your shoes won’t show, and it makes it easy to change).
DAY OF YOUR SESSION
Arriving
Plan your travel time so you arrive 10 minutes early. Allow yourself plenty of time to get here. If you are late, we cannot run your
session into the next appointment time — it will only result in less images taken of you. However, if you are too early, we may be photographing other session.
Glasses
To eliminate distracting glares and reflections, call your optician to either borrow a pair of empty frames or have the lenses removed from your own frames. Non glare lenses work well in some cases. If you choose to wear glasses with lenses keep in mind that removing glass glare from your photographs will be done at your expense. Non-glare lenses work well in some cases.
Rain
Summer showers come and go quickly. Arrive at your session as scheduled and if weather is an issue, we will gladly reschedule the outdoor part of your session for another day.
Pet
If you are to bring a pet, you must bring someone along to watch and care for it while you’re being photographed. Keep in mind that involving your pet takes extra time, and may mean less photographs and/or clothing changes.
Friends, siblings (extra)
We’d be happy to take a couple images with you and a friend, sibling, but this involves extra time and may mean less clothing changes
and images of you. *THIS IS NOT A FAMILY PORTRAIT. We suggest to book a separate family portrait session for more than one set-up of pictures.
F.A.Q.
How long will my portrait creation take?
This depends on the type of session you select. Sessions last from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
When do I pay my session fee? What about deposits?
All creation fees are to be paid in full when you make your appointment to retain your date and time. Deposits are due on
the day of the session.
What happens if I need to cancel or re-schedule?
Please call studio at least 7 days prior to your cancelation or re-schedule. During the summer, afternoon sessions are very popular and limited. We
often sell out before season starts! Please understand when rescheduling is difficult. We’ll do our best to accommodate
your wish. However, because of high demand in the summer session, in the event that you cancel without rescheduling less than 3 days prior to your
scheduled session, sitting fee will not be refunded. If you reschedule in less than 3 days notice, a $20 rescheduling fee will be required.
What to do about yearbook?
We normally have yearbook guidelines from each school. If not, we may ask you to provide the information. Once the yearbook
picture is taken, you only have to choose which picture you want for your yearbook, and we will do the rest!
How long will it before I can see my previews?
Some pictures may be reviewed during the session to help clarify what you want. The rest will be on line in 2-3 weeks after your session date.
When should I order pictures?
You can order whenever it is convenient to you. Please make an appointment for your ordering session. You don’t have to decide everything. We can help!
